Treasures from the Hungarian National Museum Exhibition in New York

Date:  December 8 - December 14
Location:  Consulate General of Hungary
223 E 52nd Street, NY 10022

Organized by the Liszt Institute New York a special exhibition titled Treasures from the Hungarian National Museum will be on display at the Consulate General of Hungary on December 8 and 13, 2024.

The exhibition offers a selection of our museum's special artifacts and presents its most precious treasures to the public. Through these artifacts, we would like to illustrate Hungary's rich past and its turbulent centuries of more than 1000 years. Let us glimpse into Hungarian history, from the coronation robes to the 1990s! You will find unique and special objects such as the Seuso treasures, the dressing gown in which Empress Sisi was murdered, the piano owned by Beethoven and then Ferenc Liszt, not to mention the Stalin statue.

The exhibition was realized in the framework of the Petőfi Cultural Program, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and in cooperation with the National Institute of Cultural Heritage.
