Sam Havadtoy's work has been exhibited to great acclaim around the world. A few years ago, the Holy Father himself commissioned a copy of his work for Pope Francis' visit to Monza. Sam Havadtoy spends most of his time in Italy and Szentendre, Hungary.
On 20 August, his installation will open the renewed St Stephen's Hall in the Buda Castle, which will be open to the public free of charge.
Sam Havadtoy will show visitors King Stephen's words of admonition to his son, Imre, through contemporary art. The exhibition recalls the spiritual legacy of King Stephen and the timeless achievements of his state-building in the context of past and present, tradition and preservation.
In the video below, the artist talks about the creative process of the installation, the still relevant words of King Stephen and the significance of the exhibition.
