Literary Meet and Greet with dr. Judit Kerekes

Date:  April 5
Time: 21:00
Location:  Consulate General of Hungary
223 E 52nd Street, NY 10022

Organized by the Liszt Institute New York an exciting book launch will take place featuring the volume of mathematician and pedagogue dr. Judit Kerekes on April 5, 2025 at 5 PM at the Consulate General of Hungary in New York!

Prior to the theater performance of Dunakanyar (Danube Bend) starting at 6:30 PM audience members will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion with the production’s actors, Oszkár Nyári and Szilvia Nyári, from the Csiky Gergely Theatre in Kaposvár, Hungary. They will be joined by Professor Dr. Judit Kerekes, a distinguished mathematician who has been living and teaching in the United States for decades.

Dr. Kerekes is a member of a three-generation teaching dynasty and, a few years ago, published a book in tribute to her mother, Lottyka, a former physical education teacher who lived for more than a century. Beyond its deeply personal family narrative, the book also offers a broader historical portrait of Hungary. The work has since served as the foundation for a literary book launch featuring theatrical performances in Manhattan and Washington, D.C.

This audience meeting will provide an informal and engaging conversation with all three guests, exploring themes of theater, literature, and mathematics.

The event is free of charge bu registration is required.

Please not that the event will be conducted in Hungarian!
