Hungarian organist Áron Dóbisz will give an exciting recital on July 14, 2024 from 4PM at the Hungarian Reformed Church in New Brunswick. In the framework of the concert the young artist will interpret works by timeless classics, like Vivaldi and Bach as well as beloved Hungarian composers such as Béla Bartók.
About the artist
Áron Dóbisz was born in Ózd, Hungary. He graduated as an organ artist and teacher from the Faculty of Music of the University of Szeged in 2007. In 2011, he graduated as a piano teacher at the same university. In 2006 he studied in Italy on an Erasmus scholarship. He has won prizes in many domestic and significant European organ competitions. He was the grand prize winner of the 2006 Szeged Organ Competition. Also in 2006 he was the Second Prize winner of the Premio Bucchi International Organ Competition in Rome, Italy. In 2015 he won the Second Prize in the Timorgelfest International Organ Competition in Timisoara, Romania. He has given concerts in many countries in Europe and Canada. The Hungarian organ music of the 20th century plays a significant role in his repertoire. He has been actively participating in an organ-trumpet duo with Bence János Samodai for three years. Their first music album was released on Spotify two years ago featuring Baroque masterpieces.
