The Liszt Institute New York is delighted to present a special movie screening featuring a thriling new Hungarian historic adventure movie set in the 18th century to celebrate the Day of Hungarian Film at the Hungarian House in New York.
János Szikora's new historic adventure movie HADIK tells the story of the most daring adventure of the 18th century when the Hungarian Hussar General Andras Hadik was sent by Queen Maria Theresa to take Berlin for the great humiliation of the Prussian king, Frederick the Great. The movie is about overcoming the most dire of circumstances in order to achieve something seemingly impossible. As Hadik was sent on this mission with a dysfunctional team it is also a story of finding our common qualities instead of focusing on our differences in order to achieve wonders. An ultimate multicultural European adventure where the greatest Hungarian general married to a Polish princess serving the Austrian Queen stops the aggressive Prussian conquerors with a ragtag team of Hungarian, Saxon, Austrian and Croatian misfit soldiers.
After the screening the audience will have the chance to meet actress Lili Bordán, who portrays Queen Elizabeth of Prussia in the movie.

'The story is built up by fast-paced images, and considering the rhythm of the film, the whole movie is an incredible gallop. There are short emotional episodes of love, family, friendship, duty and betrayal, but then again, like a whirlwind, the story continues to capture its heroes.' - the creators of Hadik summarized their concept.
Come and experience the movie about the extraordinary life of iconic Hungarian hussar, András Hadik, based on true historical events and meet Hungarian actress Lili Bordán!
