The Golden Classical Music Award’s purpose is to discover artists of outstanding personality and provide awards which can help to launch international careers.

The 2021 winners' concert will take place at the Weill Recital Hall. In the soloist category, Hungary will be represented by Botond Téglás, a 12-year-old violinist from Sárospatak.

Botond Téglás is a 12-year-old violin player from Sárospatak. Botond has been playing the violin since the age of 5 and has so far won 34 international violin competitions, most of them first prizes. In addition to numerous performances at home, he has performed in Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Slovakia.

Among others, Botond has performed with several renowned violinists, such as Kossuth Prize winner János Rolla, Liszt Prize winner István Pál and the acclaimed Italian violinist Enrico Balboni. He is a permanent member of the Zsindely Folk Ensemble.

Botond is a student of Csabáné Varjas at the Farkas Ferenc Elementary School of Arts in Sárospatak. In addition to his music studies in Sárospatak, he is taught by renowned violin teachers in Budapest and in Vienna.
