One of Hungary’s most acclaimed folk dance companies, the Duna Art Ensemble, brings its captivating performance, Images of Hungarian Folk Dances, to the stage. This evocative production showcases traditional dances from across the Carpathian Basin, blending authenticity with artistic interpretation through dynamic choreography and live folk music.

Founded in 1957, the Duna Art Ensemble is composed of 26 professional dancers and a six-member folk orchestra. With a strong foundation in authentic traditions, their work reimagines folk heritage for the stage, exploring the emotional depth, storytelling power, and cultural richness of Hungarian dance.

Images of Hungarian Folk Dances presents a series of impressions and moods, offering a vivid glimpse into the diversity of rural dance traditions. Fluid in structure and full of expressive energy, the performance moves between regions, styles, and rhythms, illuminating the vibrancy of Hungarian folk culture.

Led by artistic director Zsolt Juhász, the Ensemble aims to inspire a broad audience by bridging the worlds of theatre and folk tradition. Their performances are both faithful to heritage and forward-looking, embracing innovation while honouring deep-rooted customs.
