Budapest, 1924 – The laundryman, Minarik Ede (played by Dezső Garas), would give everything to see his soccer team in the premier league, but his dream requires many sacrifices. His laundromat, his marriage… everything that he has or did have. Still, he needs more money; hence, from time to time he is forced to sell some of his players. Despite the challenges, Minarik refuses to give up and insists on his motto: “We need a team!”
Football of The Good Old Days’, directed by Pál Sándor and released in 1973, pays homage to the cinema of the old days while presenting the story of a small man, who continues to stand up after every fall.
