17-19 Cockspur St, London SW1Y 5BL
Join us for our next Beyond Kino screening as we dive into The Revolt of Job, the Oscar-nominated Hungarian classic by directors Imre Gyöngyössy and Barna Kabay.

Set in rural Hungary in 1943, the film follows an elderly Jewish couple who adopt a rebellious young boy, hoping to pass on their love, traditions, and way of life before history changes everything around them. Rather than focusing on war itself, The Revolt of Job captures the fragile beauty of everyday life just before catastrophe - with tenderness, humour, and devastating emotional power. Widely considered one of the greatest Hungarian films ever made, it remains a deeply moving meditation on identity, chosen family, and what survives through generations.
As always, this is more than just a screening. After the film, we'll come together for an informal discussion and community gathering - open to everyone, whether you're discovering Hungarian cinema for the first time or returning to a beloved classic.
The film will be shown in Hungarian with English subtitles.
Programme:
- 6:30 PM - Film screening
- 8:30 PM - Post-screening discussion and community gathering
