On Thursday, 26 June, we hosted a lecture about Albert Kner’s legacy in industrial design. This special evening came about to celebrate the book Albert Kner: Artist, Icon, Legend: Discovering His Legacy in Industrial Design, co-authored by Robert Brooker and Ádám Erdész. This beautifully produced volume brings long-overdue recognition to one of the 20th century’s unsung creative minds.
The lecture was presented by Robert Brooker on Kner’s extraordinary life and career, tracing his journey from early typographic experimentation in Hungary to his post-war success as Design Director for America’s largest cardboard manufacturer, where he was tasked with an unusual but inspiring challenge: make cardboard beautiful.
