In 2026, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Right from the very first race on 10 August 1986, there was a Finnish driver on the grid: Keke Rosberg. Since then, there have been very few years when fans at the Hungaroring couldn’t cheer for a Finnish competitor. This anniversary year is a perfect occasion to revisit this unique Hungarian–Finnish history embedded in motorsport.
We present a photographic album that not only presents all 40 Hungarian Grands Prix held between 1986 and 2025, but also highlights the seven Finnish drivers who have raced — and achieved major success — on the Hungarian track.
Who are the Finnish drivers?
• Keke Rosberg
• Jyrki Järvilehto
• Mika Häkkinen (winner in 1999, 2000)
• Mika Salo
• Kimi Räikkönen (winner in 2005)
• Heikki Kovalainen (winner in 2008)
• Valtteri Bottas
The album guides the reader through the decades with a rich collection of photographs, accompanied by concise texts and captions.
