Ludovika Scholars Program

The Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS) invites lecturers and researchers from Central and Eastern Europe to apply for the Ludovika Scholars Program. The initiative is designed to strengthen academic collaboration, allowing visiting scholars to engage with LUPS faculty and explore joint research and educational opportunities.

Selected participants will spend one week at LUPS (Budapest or Baja campus) in 2026, giving public lectures, leading workshops, and joining professional discussions. This immersive experience fosters connections with the University’s community and supports potential collaborative publications and programs.

LUPS offers a wide range of study and research areas, including political science, public administration, security and military studies, disaster management, water sciences, law enforcement, and cybersecurity.

The program is particularly interested in applicants working in:
• Water management, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and related fields;
• Political science, international relations, European studies, and public policy;
• Military logistics, defense planning, operational strategy, and emerging technologies;
• Criminal law, criminology, forensic sciences, cybersecurity, and national security.

Program benefits:
• Travel, accommodation, and daily meals (breakfast and lunch) are covered;
• A net honorarium of €1,000;
• Opportunities to build long-term academic partnerships.

Eligibility criteria:
• Citizens of Central and Eastern European countries are preferred;
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher);
• Relevant research or professional experience;
• Teaching experience and current academic or public roles.

Application requirements:
• Completed application form;
• Detailed CV including publications;
• Work plan (1,500–2,000 characters) highlighting lectures, workshops, and collaboration goals;
• Cover letter outlining networking and dissemination plans;
• Contact details of three referees.

Applicants will be notified of the results by the end of February 2026.
