The Hungarian Translators’ House Foundation is organizing the 2nd edition of its fellowship targeted at European publishers of literary fiction. The fellowship will take place in Balatonfüred, a town by the Lake Balaton, in the Translators’ House. Six fellows will be chosen among the applicants.
The Jókai Fellowship is a professional programme which aims to provide international publishing professionals with an in-depth introduction to Hungarian literary culture and book market, creates opportunities to build relationships with local publishers, agents, authors, and translators, and supports the international sale of translation rights to local works.
The Hungarian Translators’ House Foundation will cover travel, accommodation and some meals.
The fellowship program will take place from 3–6 September 2026.
Who can apply? European publishers and editors of literary fiction.
