On Saturday, 4 September 2021, the Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture in Abja-Paluoja will host a day of Finno-Ugric cafés, where you can taste and fill your belly with a variety of Hungarian dishes on the food street.
Open from 11-16, the Hungarian café will serve the Hungarian national dish goulash soup, traditionally made from beef. Gabriella Nad, a renowned Hungarian caterer and cook, promised to light the stove early in the morning so that the soup would be ready by 11am. The soup will be served with Hungarian favourites, savoury pies called 'pogácsa' or cheese biscuits. There are also treats for wine lovers, cookies and juice.
When you're full, you can browse through and pick up a selection of the Institute's publications on Hungary and Hungarians. You can also find Hungarian literary fiction in Estonian at the desk.
Welcome to Abja-Paluoja!
