Set decorator Zsuzsa Mihalek won the Oscar for Best Production Design for her work on Poor Things. The award is traditionally shared by the set decorator and the production designer, so Mihalek shares the Oscar for Best Production Design with James Price and Shona Heath. A few weeks ago, the team already won the BAFTA for their work on Poor Things.

Zsuzsa Mihalek began her career as a set decorator in the 1980s, working on famous Hungarian films such as Csinibaba, Werckmeister Harmonies, and Argo. She has also worked as a set decorator on several international productions shot in Hungary, including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Atomic Blonde.

Filmed in Hungary, Poor Things boasts numerous Hungarian talents – you can spot 349 Hungarian names on the cast list. But behind the scenes, 600 local professionals supported the work of Pioneer Productions.
