Preparing for Darkness | Contemporary Art in Berlin

Date: 14 April - 12 June
Venue:  Collegium Hungaricum Berlin
Dorotheenstraße 12, 10117, Berlin

The Collegium Hungaricum Berlin and Selected Artistsart gallery present a joint exhibition on the expression of melancholy in contemporary art through the works of ten European artists.

The exhibited works – including Attila Szűcs' painting “Preparing for Darkness”, which serves as the title of the exhibition, Ádám Magyar's video work “Blown. There is no revolution” and the paintings by Ádám Bota, Anna Nemes and Levente Herman - try to capture both the concept of melancholy and the current state of the world in a metaphorical way.

As different as the individual works may seem at first glance, the atmosphere throughout the exhibition forges a unified contemporary artistic direction for the ten participating artists.
