Sofia 1000, Aksakov street 16

To mark the 220th anniversary of the birth of Lajos Kossuth, governor-president of Hungary in 1849, a special installation is presented in Bulgaria.
The light sculpture by Csilla Szilágyi and Tamás Herczeg relates to Kossuth's emigration and its impact on Bulgarian society. The work was first on display in Sumen, where Kossuth and his fellow officers arrived after the defeat of the 1848-1849 Revolution and War of Independence. The installation is on show in the Bulgarian capital at the Liszt Institute from 1-22 June.
The project is a result of collaboration between the Liszt Institute Sofia and the Lighthouse Association.
The project is sponsored by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary, the Municipality of Debrecen and the Municipality of Sumen.
