Buliash Todaeva
A pop-up exhibition featuring re-thought classical Hungarian applied art pieces by Russian artist Buliash Todaeva is on display from 23 January at the Moscow Design Museum.
The exhibition series called “In Circulation” was launched in 2018 by the Hungarian Museum of Applied Arts. In the initiative contemporary designers are invited to get acquainted with the rich collection of the museum and then to select an object or group of objects that will serve as an inspiration for a new design. The design object inspired by the museum’s treasures will also become a part of the collection.
The fourth designer in the „In Circulation” series is Russian artist Buliash Todaeva, who chose Hungarian bags and furniture from the 60th and 70th as a source of inspiration. The project, created with the participation of the Liszt Institute, can be viewed at the Moscow Design Museum until 29th January, after that it will be on display at the György Ráth Villa in Budapest.
