The international exhibition Fotobloc. Central Europe in Photobook presenting the history of Central Europe with the help of photo books will be on display at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius from the end of July till October.

The broad exhibition provides an overview of the past 80 years of Central Europe with albums, art books, and propaganda publications, presenting life in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. The project provides an impressive overview of photo publications, the history and specifics of their photo traditions, and the countries. The visitors can get a picture of the everyday life in Central-Europe, as well as the era of political, cultural and technical transformation.

The installation of Hungarian artist Peter Puklus ‘Handbook to the Stars’ from the Ludwig Museum’s collection in Budapest is also part of the exhibition. The event was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
