The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music organised a joint concert on 6 March as part of the “Reconnection” exchange program.

The cooperation between the Hungarian and Israeli music academies was launched in 2013 with the purpose of organizing annual concerts and professional workshops with the participation of students and professors of the two institutions. This year, the joint program was held in a hybrid way: the shows were run at the two venues at the same time, but they were live streamed online, thus the audiences of each institution could follow both performances.

The welcoming speech was made by – Mr. Gyula Fekete, Vice-Rector of the Academy of Music, Mr. Michael Klinghoffer, President of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Mr. Yakov Hadas-Handelsman, the Ambassador of Israel in Budapest and Mr. Levente Benkő, Ambassador of Hungary in Tel Aviv. The event was supported by the Hungarian Embassy in Tel-Aviv.

The concert also featured works from students of both institutions. The Carmel Curiel's "Primary Colors - 1. Yellow" piece was performed by the Sárréti Quartet of the Liszt Ferenc Academy in Budapest, while Márton Géza Szőcs’s "Homage á B." was played by students of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance at the Tel Aviv Concert Hall.
