On the 25th of February, 2023, one of the world's largest book fairs, the New Delhi World Book Fair opened, with Hungary making its first appearance with its own stand in collaboration with the Liszt Institute in Delhi and the Petőfi Literary Agency. Hungarian contemporary literature is being showcased at the event, which attracts over one million visitors, through its discussions and interactive children's programs.
Nearly 1,300 Indian exhibitors and more than 35 countries are participating in the book fair. Hungary is the only country from Central Europe to have its own presence at the fair, which is expected to attract more than 1.5 million visitors based on the experience of previous years. The contemporary Hungarian literature is being represented by Berg Judit, Szűcs Péter, and Pál Dániel Levente. On the 26th of February, in the International Events Corner, a panel discussion titled "Kaleidoscope" was held on contemporary Hungarian literature, with Pál Dániel Levente, the director of the Petőfi Literary Agency, Berg Judit, the author of the Rumini book series, and Szűcs Péter, the author of the best-selling Dharma book in 2022.
On the sidelines of the book fair, on March 4, the Delhi Liszt Institute organized a reading and interactive program with Berg Judit at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, India's largest private collection. The cooperation between the museum and the institute is not new: the Delhi Liszt Institute regularly participates in the museum's #weekendsatknma interactive workshop programs with Hungarian themes.
