Minderbroedersstraat 22, 2000 Antwerpen & Rue Royale-Sainte-Marie 22a, 1030 Schaerbeek
The 2025 Transpoesie International Poetry Festival is taking place with the participation of Hungarian poet Sára Bíró, organized by the EUNIC Brussels cluster. The Liszt Institute Brussels has been a partner of the event since its inception. The festival, held between September 18-19, offers insights into various European cultures through poetry, with a focus on languages and linguistic diversity. This year, it brings the works of 17 poets to the Brussels and Antwerp literary audience and showcases contemporary European poetry through several public events.
For the 15th edition of TRANSPOESIE, EUNIC Brussels once again celebrates the European Day of Languages with a unique festival that brings poetry into the heart of the city. Since 2011, TRANSPOESIE has highlighted Europe’s extraordinary linguistic and cultural diversity by showcasing contemporary poets from across the continent and beyond, through public readings, creative encounters and striking displays of poems in Brussels’ metro, trams and buses.
Over the years, the festival has presented hundreds of poets and translations, reaching literary enthusiasts and millions of commuters, offering moments of reflection, discovery and connection in the midst of daily life. This landmark 15th edition invites audiences to once again pause, listen and celebrate the power of poetry to bridge languages, cultures and people.
The TRANSPOESIE website and the printed festival materials will contribute to raising awareness of the diversity of languages by providing a visible platform for their poetic expression.
