Hungarian-Spanish-Belgian Jazz Club with guitarist Albert Vila
In collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Brussels a special edition will be organized on the 12th March of the well-known Hungarian-Belgian Jazz Club. We are glad to welcome Albert Vila, Spanish guitarist among the band composed by Zsári Tamás, saxophonist, Bruno Castellucci, drummer and Bart de Nolf, bassist.
Albert Vila is one of the most outstanding guitarists of his generation. He began his musical studies at the “Taller de Musics” Barcelona. In 1999 he was accepted into the Conservatory of Amsterdam and studied with Jesse Van Ruller. In 2014 Joined the Jazz Master program for composition at the Koninklijk conservatory of Brussels. In February of 2016 he released “The Unquiet Sky” recorded in NY and featuring some of the most original voices in the jazz scene: Aaron Parks on piano , Doug Weiss on bass and Jeff Ballard on drums. After that he promoted his album playing at different Festivals and venues all around Europe together with great sidemen such as Shai Maestro and Luís Perdomo. In 2020 embarks himself on a challenging project: a solo guitar album, in 2021 his music was recorded and the result was his album “Levity” released in 2023 under two labels the Belgian label Hypnote Records and the Japanese Mocloud Records.
Tamás Zsári (saxophone) was born in Budapest, Hungary, and graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. After graduation he moved to the United States and lived there for 3 years. In 2001 he accepted an invitation from the Budapest Jazz Orchestra to join the orchestra. He is one of the founding members of the Modern Art Orchestra and has performed with many renowned musicians, including Bob Mintzer, Peter Erskine and David Liebman. With his orchestra he also plays his own compositions. He has performed at numerous festivals in Europe and Hungary. He currently lives in Brussels.
Bart De Nolf (double bass) was born in 1965 in Bruges, Belgium. He graduated in 1987 from the Royal Conservatoire of Music in Ghent, Belgium. Since 1988 he has taught at the Royal Conservatoire in Ghent and at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels. He has been a member of the BRT Jazz Orchestra since 1986. He has also played with various pop bands and performers and with freelance musicians. Since 1997, he has been a permanent member of the Toots Thielemans Qvartett, with whom he has performed throughout Europe and the world.
Bruno Castellucci (drums) was born in Chatelet, Belgium. He started playing the drums self-taught at the age of 14. In 1962 he won first prize at the Adolphe Sax Jazz Festival in Dinanti. Since 1963 he has been a member of the Alex Scorier Jazz Quintet. Since 1970 he has recorded in many countries around the world. He was a member of the BRT Jazz Orchestra from 1974-1981 and a permanent member of the Toots Thielemans Quartet since 1972. Since 1978 he has played with the Akkerman orchestra and since 1980 with Rhythm combination & Brass.
