"The film portrays women who were sent and locked up in internment camps without a sentence in the 1950s. They were humiliated, torn from their families, and their lives were broken. Their only sin was that they were wives, mothers, family members who loved.
The film confronts the former detainees with their prison guard, Piroska 40 years later. Among the prisoners, the viewer can meet famous artists, communists, workers and arístocrats, like the countess Mónika Eszterházy, or Gizi Lutz, the wife of Ferenc Szálasi, the leader of the fascist Arrow Cross Party of the 1940s. Several of the former prisoners travelled home from abroad to meet their fellow detainees and confront their former prison guard."
