The four excellent pianists of the finals, Maxim Lando, Yi Chen Feng, Gergely Kovács and Eri Yamamoto performed Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major accompanied by the Orchestra of St. Lukes’s on October 7 at the Grand Final of the II. New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition at Carnegie Hall, Stern Auditorium.
The first prize of the competition was shared between pianists extraordinaire Maxim Lando and Yi Chen Feng. The latter was also awarded with the audience award.
The third prize of the competition went to outstanding Hungarian pianist Gergely Kovács and the Japanese Eri Yamamoto received an honorary mention.
The concert was followed by a elevated reception at the Consulate General of Hungary in New York.
The II. New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition and Festival took place on October 5-7, 2022 at Carnegie Hall.
The event was organized by The Adam Gyorgy Foundation and supported by the Consulate General of Hungary and the Liszt Institute New York. The goal of the occasion was to celebrate Franz Liszt's heritage and to spotlight the exceptional talents chosen by a distinguished jury to perform at one of the world's most prestigious venues.
The renowed jury included artistic director Ádam György, concert pianist and Steinway artist Steven Spooner and Franz Liszt Award winner pianist Gábor Farkas.
