The members of the Romanian EUNIC cluster are proposing a pitch of contemporary children's literature to Romanian publishers, through a project created and coordinated by the Hungarian Cultural Institute - Bucharest.
Contemporary European literature urges its readers, be they children or their parents, to contemplate and think together. In these books, the characters are much more relatable for children than the classics we are used to, but the purpose of the books stays the same: equipping future generations with a strong moral compass.
The program will be implemented in three parts: from November 17 to 22, the children's literature texts and descriptions recommended by EUNIC cluster members to Romanian publishers will be published on the institute's Facebook page, after which an enthusiastic team of Romanian actors will act out fragments of the translations, followed by an online discussion on whether Romanian publishers are open to publishing European contemporary children's literature, whether there is a demand for this European literature in the Romanian market, and is it important for parents and teachers to have children read European literature?
Event realised under the patronage of EUNIC Romania.
