Consulate General in Munich concludes successful conference on the Hungarian automotive industry

The Hungarian Consulate General in Munich and the DialogUngarn German-Hungarian Business Network organised a business conference on investment opportunities in the automotive industry in Hungary on the occasion of the Munich Motor Show.

The conference, titled "Hungary as an automotive location", was opened on 9 September 2021 with a video message by Dr László Palkovics, Minister of Innovation and Technology, in which he highlighted the importance of the Hungarian automotive industry and praised the success of the ZalaZone automotive test track. Gábor Tordai-Lejkó, Consul General in Munich, gave an overview of Hungarian-Bavarian economic relations and the economic role of the V4 countries and welcomed that the event could be held on the margins of the IAA international mobility and automotive exhibition. On behalf of the German-Hungarian business association Dialog Ungarn, Managing Partner Dr Arne Gobert stressed the importance of German-Hungarian relations.

The online business meeting was an opportunity to present the ZalaZone automotive test track to the German professional audience. ZalaZone plays a significant role in domestic research and development and ensures that the automotive industry - the most important export sector of the Hungarian economy - keeps pace with the challenges of the future.

The online business meeting was well attended, with representatives from BMW, Continental, Germany Trade and Invest, Deutsche Telekom AG, Daimler AG, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, as well as numerous cities, organisations and companies taking part in the discussions.
