The Collegium Hungaricum is one hundred years old

The opening event of this year's centenary celebrations of the Collegium Hungaricum in Vienna and Berlin was held on 24 January 2024 at the Klebelsberg Castle in Pesthidegkút, the former residence of the Minister of Religion and Education. The jubilee round table discussion was attended by the heads of cultural institutions, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and the Executive Director of the Foundation for Civic Education.

The CH100 Overture will mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian Academies in Berlin and Vienna. The commemorative event will take place in the castle where Count Kuno Klebelsberg, one of the most influential culture ministers and statesmen of the 20th century, lived and worked 100 years ago. He was the initiator of the network of Hungarian institutes abroad, and later founded the first Collegium Hungaricum.

The event, which was also the opening event of the jubilee season, started with a round table discussion with Dr. Gábor Ujváry, Director of the VERITAS Historical Research Institute and Archives, Márta Nagy, Director of the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin, Márton Méhes, Director of the Collegium Hungaricum Vienna, Gábor Csaba, Deputy State Secretary for Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, Anita Hegyi, Strategic Advisor of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, and Péter Szollár, Director of the Klebelsberg Castle Foundation for Civic Culture.

To mark the anniversary, a new series was launched, called the Klebelsberg Academy Club. In the future, representatives of the participating institutions will meet regularly to share their experiences.
