Hungarian Takes Top Prize in Belgrade

The Hungarian actor Péter Scherer has taken first place at the International Festival of Monodrama and Pantomime in Belgrade.

Scherer took the prize for his singular role in Klamm’s War.
 
The jury’s decision on the prize was unanimous. They praised Scherer’s “interactive role which made the audience part of the performance” as well as the actor’s “outstanding creativity” which helped “reveal the dark depths of the human soul.”
 
Scherer has shown his “volcanic temperament,” “refined sense of acting,” “exceptional ability to concentrate and wonderful talent,” the members of the jury said.
 
Theatres from Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia, Japan, Australia, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Russia participated at the festival.
