The Hungarian spa town of Cserkeszőlő will host its 4th Valiant Days, a celebration of ancient tradition, on July 15-18.

This year’s Valiant Days is expected to draw between 4,000 and 5,000 visitors, said chief organiser Orsolya Gulyás.

Valiant Days will start on Thursday with the selection of a festival king and queen, a parade and demonstration of the life of a mercenary soldier. Also on the festival programme is a horse-riding show, a cheese-making demonstration, a parade of mounted archers and a fire dance. Three local restaurants will bear the title of “Cserke Valiant’s Favourite”.

Special guests to take the stage at the city’s sports grounds are Resző Soltész, Zoltán Mága, Angyalok, the actor and comic Gábor Forgacs, the Botafogó Dance Ensemble and Szuper Dáridó.

The festival is named after a local legend.
